If you hoped to explore ToonTown and ride Barnstormer…now you can again. Walt Disney World expanded Fantasyland (almost doubling it in size), so it had to close ToonTown during part of the renovation. Parts of the old ToonTown have now been reopened, including Barnstormer and a new water attraction to replace Donald’s Boat. There are also now two Dumbo rides in the old ToonTown area to help reduce lines and wait times. The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train ride was the last to open in spring 2014.
The indoor/outdoor roller coaster called The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train has cars that swing back and forth along the track. Princess Fairytale Hall gives you a place to meet the characters, and there is a new Storybook Circus area that builds on some concepts from the original ToonTown.
The old 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea area is once again putting smiles on your face. The expansion includes Storytime with Belle, Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid, and an attraction where you can meet Ariel. The Journey of the Little Mermaid matches an attraction in Disney California Adventure park and allows you to ride in a clamshell car as you experience the story of the Little Mermaid.
